Amanda Bynes Found Unfit to Attend Court Date from 2012 DUI

dui amanda bynesAmanda Bynes was unable to attend her own court date on Tuesday because she has been found unfit to represent herself in court by her own lawyer, Rich Hutton.  The court hearing is in regard to a Driving Under the Influence charge Amanda received in April 2012.  Hutton claimed Bynes was unable to comprehend the court proceedings and was therefore ruled unable to attend.

Bynes had been spending time in New York City until recently when she started her outlandish behaviour which was largely displayed through social media.  She took many opportunities to offend other public figures and made the national news headlines for a few weeks straight.  Lynn Bynes, her mother, still holds conservatorship over her whilst Amanda remains held in a mental institute.  Plans remain in place to hold Amanda for a few more months and then release her into the custody and home of her mother.

DUIs occur within the young driver group at a torrid pace.  Parents make every attempt to control the behaviour of young drivers whilst behind the wheel.  But no parent can keep a close enough eye on them to control bad decisions all the time.  Now however a car insurance product is making a difference for many with young drivers.  The car insurance product is known as telematics car insurance and it is changing the way insurance is viewed.

Telematics pay as you drive car insurance involves a small device which is mounted on the inside of the insured car.  This is a special device because it monitors driving habits.  Important habits like speeding, braking and cornering are monitored for evidence of safely handling the car.  This is a unique way to keep an eye on young drivers as all their habits are posted on an online dashboard which is accessible at any time.
